Honest Horses Magazine is an information-filled, high-quality, all-breeds and all-disciplines, West Coast horse magazine dedicated to natural methods of training, riding, and being with horses--and with dogs, too!
We focus on every-day horse enthusiasts--who make up the greatest number of horse owners today--and helping them improve their enjoyment, experiences, and relationships with horses.
Our articles, which are written in a fun, fresh, and friendly style, reflect the needs and wants of our readers. Many of our
articles are penned by some of today's most talented clinicians, trainers, and equine experts.
Honest Horses Magazine is a free magazine. Pick up a copy at your favorite West Coast tack and feed stores and other equine-related businesses. You'll also find it at horse shows, expos, and clinics.
And copies are personally handed out by our clinicians, equine experts, advertisers, and, of course, by Honest Horses Magazine staff. Subscriptions will also be available soon.

The story behind Honest Horses Magazine
We--Cheryl Caldwell and Kathleen McFarren--had been chomping at the proverbial bit to start our very own regional horse magazine. Now we've turned our dream into an honest-to-goodness reality.
Both of us used to work for a popular regional horse magazine that is no longer in print. We had so many amazing experiences and developed so many great contacts that we decided to take matters into our own hands and create our very own publication.
We saw a big need for a West Coast magazine that specifically caters to every-day horse enthusiasts who, like ourselves, were born with a wild and crazy passion for equines. What's more, we realized that most every horse person we know has a dog or two, so we wanted to include canines, too. Furthermore, we wanted to create a magazine that was filled with editorial that's educational, entertaining, and meaningful to our readers.
The result? A magazine that so many people have told us they enjoy reading from cover-to-cover.
We happy to say that we've just published our second edition of Honest Horses Magazine. Find it in your favorite tack and feed stores around the 27th of August. We'll also be handing magazines out at the Draft Horse Classic in Grass Valley from September 23 to 26.
